Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We may track an ANONYMOUS visitor’s progress through various pages of our website utilizing a combination of IP address and/or cookies in order to evaluate how long they remain on particular pages, how much of each page they actually view and what website referred them to our site.  However, those analytics are never tied to an individual’s identity.  In other words, we track anonymous data regarding what a visitor does and how they interact with our site, but we never track any information that would be able to tie that data to an individual user and their personal identity.

That being said, if you were to submit a contact/comment form of some type on our website, since it also collects your IP address, we COULD, technically, connect that personal information that you submit through the form with the anonymous analytics data that has been gathered in connection with an IP address in order to merge those two sets of data.

We do not do this since our intent is never to learn more about YOU than you choose to let us know.  However, you need to be aware that it could be possible to do so, nevertheless.

Who we share your data with

The analytics data that we collect would, of course, be shared with the various analytics services that we utilize (namely, Google Analytics, Facebook and Amazon).  So, that ANONYMOUS data is shared with those three entities.

Any personal data that you submit is ONLY shared with the third party services we choose to utilize in order to host and manage that data.  Those services that we utilize for this purpose have very strict privacy policies, ensuring that they will not sell or give any user specific data to any other entity or individual.

As a company, we also will NEVER sell or give your personal data to any other entity or individual, with the exception of those third party services that we utilize to manage that data which you provide to us.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

In addition, any personal data that you submit via any contact or registration form on our website will also be retained indefinitely, in order to better serve you in the future, should have a warranty claim or an issue that you require assistance with.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, have submitted a contact or registration form, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.  Other data is only “sent” outside our company database in accordance with any of the situations specified earlier in this privacy document.
